APRIL, 2022 - DIXIE FIRE
As of April, 2022 the Common Good Community Foundation raised and awarded just shy of $225,000 to assist individuals and communities impacted by the Dixie Fire. Our heartfelt thanks to our donors and our wishes for healing, recovery and rebuilding to the victims of the fire.
MAY/JUNE FUNDING CYCLE
The Common Good Community Foundation will be accepting 2022 grant applications during the month of May and grants will be awarded in late June. Grant applications must be received or postmarked by May 31st. Please see our "Funding Opportunities" page for more information.

QUINCY FIRE RELIEF DONATIONS
In response to the fire in downtown Quincy on July 29th, the Common Good Community Foundation made the following donations:
West End Theater/Dramaworks - $500
Plumas Crisis Intervention & Resource Center - $1,000
JUNE DONATION
A donor designated donation of $1,500 was awarded to the Lost Sierra Composite Mountain Bike Team
CORONA VIRUS DONATIONS
The Common Good Community Foundation was the recipient of a $10,000 anonymous donation in late March. This generous donation was designated for emergency needs in Plumas County related to the COVID 19 outbreak. $5,750 was distributed among the four food pantries in Plumas County including CAN, EPCAN, the Indian Valley Food Pantry and the Almanor Basin Food Pantry. $3,500 was donated to the Plumas Crisis Intervention and Resource Center, with the remaining $750 distributed to local animal shelters including PAWS, High Sierra Animal Rescue and Friends of the Animals.
The Common Good Community Foundation also made a donation of $750 to the Yes We Can Meal Preparation Fund via the Quincy Co-op.

June, 2019 Funding Awards
The Common Good Community Foundation awarded grants to three very deserving Plumas County non-profit organizations during the May/June funding cycle. The organizations funded were:

SPECIAL EVENT - MARCH 28TH, 2019
In honor of Women's History Month, the Common Good Community Foundation in collaboration with Plumas Arts, will be sponsoring a special showing of RBG. RBG is a film about the life and career of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the second female Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.
Wendy (Webster) Williams grew up in Quincy and is a Quincy High graduate. Ms. Williams went on to become Ruth Bader Ginsburg's autobiographer and appears in the film. Ms. Williams will be introducing the film and taking questions after the film.
There will be a reception at the Quincy Theater at 6:00 PM and the film will begin at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $10.00 dollars and can be purchased at Plumas Arts.

SIX YEARS AND $100,000 LATER
March of 2018 marked the sixth anniversary of the Common Good Community Foundation. Since being founded in 2012, the foundation has donated in excess of $100,000 to forty nine organizations within Plumas County. It has been a rewarding six years and the foundation's main goal continues to be enriching life in Plumas County.

During the 2017 holiday season, the Common Good Community Foundation received just shy of $15,000 in donations. $3,000 was received for the Martin Popish Scholarship Fund along with a $5,000 anonymous unrestricted donation and $300 from local donors. Additionally, there were two local donations of note, one from the Tru Community Foundation for almost $4,000. Our thanks to Jennifer Ludvigson for this donation and her wish to use the funds for "the good of the community." The foundation was also the beneficiary of Welles (Captain Carl) Clarke' generosity. Our thanks to Jack Brown for facilitating this donation and to all our donors for their support.

THE PLUMAS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AND THE COMMON GOOD COMMUNITY FOUNDATION MERGE
Benefiting the people and organizations of Plumas County, CA, has been a shared goal of both the Plumas Community Foundation and The Common Good Community Foundation.
Formed in 1999, the Plumas Community Foundation has provided numerous scholarships to local students and provided grants to local organizations. The foundation has also served as the umbrella agency for the Eastern Plumas Recreation/Ski Johnsville Fund, among other community activities.
Organized in 2012, The Common Good Community Foundation has provided financial support to local organizations including the Plumas County Museum, the Community Assistance Network, The Mohawk Community Resource Center, PAWS, hospice programs, scholarship funds and local art galleries among others.
Given their shared goals and mutual interest in benefiting Plumas County, CA, the board of directors of the Plumas Community Foundation and The Common Good Community Foundation voted to merge into one organization effective July 1, 2013. The combined organizations will henceforth be known at The Common Good Community Foundation.
By combining their efforts and assets, both foundations believe they will be better able to serve and enrich the Plumas County community and local organizations in need of financial assistance.
